At our day after the inauguration Zoom check-in, participants shared how they are practicing self-care and community care in this challenging moment. This is a moment to be purposeful about how we care for ourselves and each other. I was inspired by this list and will likely try a few new practices from it. Perhaps you will too. – Rev. Rachel
Reaching out to folks we love, reading wisdom literature, partisan political organizing, sending money to organizations doing good work, volunteering, building coalitions, being involved at People’s Church, art, visible mending, finding common ground with others, supporting other people’s activism, planting a gar-den, meditation, not doing everything and knowing my limits, practicing nonviolence, caring for children, being gentle with myself and others, caring for neighbors, creating music, dancing, and taking naps.
