Saturday, November 21st from 9:00 to 3:00 is the date of our 24th Annual People’s Church Fine Art Sale & Holiday Bazaar, our largest church fundraiser. Our building will be transformed into a beautiful holiday shopping experience. We expect hundreds of people to come through our doors to join us in shopping for unique gifts from 32 local artists and vendors, and in buying our famous pasties and an array of delicious specialties and crafts that you prepare and contribute.
First, a note of gratitude: Big thanks to all who helped make pasties. All slots are filled for the remaining pasty-making sessions. All told, we expect to have more than 700 pasties to sell at the Bazaar this year! Amazing! Bravo!
Running the Bazaar is a huge undertaking with many roles to fill, and it works because we do it together. Please check out all the sign-up opportunities on the Bazaar table in the foyer and on-line and find a spot that interests you. Here are some needing volunteers now:
- Rick’s Riders: We need folks who are available during late mornings or early afternoons on weekdays during the upcoming week to join Rick Johnson and his merry crew as they drive downtown and ramble all around for 2 hours, asking local businesses to post our flyers advertising the Fine Arts Sale and Holiday Bazaar. It’s great exercise and a lot of fun! SIGN UP HERE!
- Plan your People’s Specialties Contributions: Make a plan to bake tasty treats or make craft items for our People’s Specialties tables. This is the main way the church makes money on the Bazaar and we always sell out! As you plan, remember that all art/craft items must be dropped off no later than November 15th to allow time for pricing and display considerations. Sign-up sheets by categories of Items are available HERE.
We are still looking for a few volunteers to help us set up the Crafts section of our People’s Specialties during the week leading up to the Bazaar. We need folks to price items, to display them in an appealing way, and to make small signs. So … if you’re an engaged shopper with a sense of prices, or have a bit of a visual flair, we would so very much love to have you lend a hand. And, if you just have a knack for sticking on a price tag … we welcome you too. Other Things to Note:
· As a courtesy to the artists and vendors and our Bazaar volunteers, we will offer a mini-café in the rear of the church with a limited menu of items for sale. Please note that this is not being offered for general use or for the public. We will need youth to help take orders and deliver food to the artists, and donations of pies and other items to sell at the mini-café.
· Start Promoting the Bazaar! Please share our Bazaar date with friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and networks. Invite them to meet you to shop locally. Flyers and social media resources will soon be available.
