People’s Church is now collecting cans & bottles!
We are excited to announce a new partnership between People’s Church and BLM Mealtrain Kzoo/BC! Please help support their wonderful work by bringing in your clean cans and bottles on or under the table that has been set up in the downstairs lobby of the church (behind the welcome desk). The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek BLM Meal Train began in the spring of 2020 as an effort to make sure Black organizers and families were fed during the biggest racial justice uprisings of our lifetimes. What began in 2020 as an urgent mutual-aid effort morphed into a more sustained and sustaining net-work of care centering food. All along they have prioritized BIPOC organizers and families, safety, dignity, and care.
