Theme: The Land, Nature, and Stewardship
We have extended the deadline for entries in the Environmental Exhibit to March 9 (instead of March 4). You can bring your art work to Eli any-time the church is open and Gay will receive art on March 4 from 5-7. Your label information (your name, title of work, medium, price and short description) must be sent in a word or text document to Gay Walker (gay.walker@wmich.edu) also by March 9. We will hang the new exhibit on Tuesday March 11. If you have any questions, please call or text Gay at 269-720-2144.
Statement of purpose: In celebration of World Earth Day (April 22, 2025) and our UU core value of Interdependence, People’s People are invited to participate through visual art/imagery in an exhibit honoring the great web of life and our place in it. What do you want to portray or say about the environment, relationship to it and stewardship of our precious land?
- When: Mid March through April 2025
- Where: People’s Church Art Wall Gallery
- Who: People connected with People’s Church, members, attendees, former Art Wall exhibitors.
We will accept art from all ages, including children’s work. If you know someone who does not regularly get church news, but might have work to contribute, please let them know.
- Submit: each participant is invited to provide 1-3 submissions for the exhibit
- Criteria: Media includes: paintings, photography, mixed media, collage, textiles, felted garments, wall hangings, pastels, etc. Must be framed (if appropriate) and/or able to be hung by wire or other hanging device. Pieces should be at least 11” x 14” or larger.
- Participant Deadlines: Deliver work to People’s Church by March 4, between 5 and 7. And Eli will accept work the week before during regular church hours. Each participant will fill out an agreement form.
- Labels: Participants will send label information: media used, price or NFS, short description of work to Gay Walker through email (gay.walker@wmich.edu); using a Word document by March 1. (Do not format)
