Samuel Benjamin Flagg
1858 - 1864
Samuel Benjamin Flagg graduated from Meadville in 1858, and was engaged as minister. In December of that year, the group was incorporated as the Union Congregation Society of Kalamazoo. It became the First Unitarian Society in 1860. Ten people signed the covenant as church members in 1859, and the number grew to 35 by 1964 when Mr. Flagg resigned. Baptisms and communion were regularly held during his tenure.
