Rachel will explore ‘the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process in our congregations and in society at large,’ one of our Unitarian Universalist principles. In a world where religion is so often hierarchical, how did we come to do religion in this unusual way? What might the practice of democracy in our congregation have to teach us about democratic process in our wider society?
