In The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, Jesus tells the story of a landowner who pays some of his workers more than they deserve, causing other workers to grumble. In this service, Rev. Rachel will explore this challenging parable, which people have used to as justification for ideas as divergent as economic justice, the power of God’s grace, the superiority of Christianity to Judaism, and the universal salvation at the core of our Universalist forebearers’ faith.
