Exactly a half-century ago, on a dark and stormy night at sea, my emerging career as an oceanographer met disaster. What happened? What did I learn? How have learnings-amidst-failure remained the pacemakers of my ministerial journey? How have I built upon my scientific training in ways that are relevant to congregational life? I’ll share some personal reflections of my sauntering, surprise-filled vocations.
For the church’s summer services, we will gather in Room 19 at 10 a.m. for a more informal, participatory worship hour.
Kindergarten – eighth graders are invited to participate in special activities based on books written by Jamie Lee Curtis: Big Words for Little People, Today I Feel Silly, I’m Gonna Like Me, and Is There Really a Human Race? each Sunday from 10:00 to 11:00 am this summer.
Summer coordinators, Mackenzie Hatfield-Johnson and Mary Kate Webster, will be leading activities
Each week will include stories, games, crafts, singing, discussions, creative movement, and FUN! Topic for August 17 is Bold Choices and Bold Voices.
