Winter Holiday Celebrations
While the Intergenerational service on Dec. 14 will include the celebrations of a few winter holidays, help is needed to highlight even more. To round out our winter holiday celebrations from various world religious traditions, we are creating displays to appear in the foyer on Dec. 14.
Anyone (of any age) interested in helping to put these displays together are invited to meet in room 12 at 10:00 each Sunday morning through Dec. 14. Bring your ideas and your creativity!
Help us create posters and information on Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Chalica, Christmas, Los Posadas, St. Lucia’s Day, the Winter Solstice and more!
Guest at Your Table
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee invites us to participate in the “Guest at Your Table” program. Each time you set the table for dinner, add an additional place setting for the “extra guest.” Spend a few minutes reading about their stories from the “Stories of Hope” brochure.
Traditionally we have distributed Guest at Your Table boxes for families to take home in which to collect donations, in a effort to save trees, UUSC has eliminated the boxes from their program. This year, the children have decorated glass jars for you to take home and collect your donations.
This annual tradition engages People’s peoples participation to help ensure people around the world have access to basic necessities such as clean water, food and shelter through programs the UUSC supports.
Pick up your jar or envelope in the lower lobby and collect through December. We will collect checks for the total amount you collect in January to send in to UUSC together.
