Molly Fairbanks, George McCrea and Rick Johnson, working through the Center for Transformation (a Kalamazoo faith-based support group for parolees and inmates), have been providing support to an inmate in the state prison in Muskegon. For the past year, they have been sending letters and care packages and visiting every month or so. He is scheduled to be released next July to begin his 2-year parole in Kalamazoo. They plan to continue the support then to help him make a successful transition from prison to community living.
Loaves & Fishes: Canned fruit is on the food wish list this month. Foods high in protein are always welcome. Summer is a high demand season due to children not getting hot lunches through the schools.
