The Social Justice Coordinating Committee is glad to announce the total of $871.56 to Mothers of Hope collected May 10. Thank you so much for your generosity. All totaled, our support for community social justice efforts this year was $8,215!
Our Lincoln School volunteers were treated to a luncheon at the school on May 7 as a thank-you to their hard work this year. Our own final get-together will be May 27 at 10:30 in the Community In Schools office. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering at Lincoln, please join us. Reminder—the After School program for kids might fit your schedule better than classroom time.
For those who enjoyed the speaker Rev. John C. Welch at the ISAAC Banquet on March 14, or for those who missed it, there is a DVD of this celebration available through ISAAC for $10. People’s has purchased a copy which may be checked out of the library free of charge.
Finally, our esteemed chair of 15 years, Phil Kramer, is stepping down. Thank you, Phil, for your wise and faithful leadership, good humor and patience. Ann Feldmeier has been selected as his successor. The transition is effective as of Tuesday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. which will be our last committee meeting of the church year.
