Now Collecting Offerings for Silent Auction
“What is the Silent Auction?”
It is an opportunity to offer and bid on goods and services provided by People’s people. It helps to build the community by sharing our talents and raises money for the church. And it is fun! Bid sheets will be available to look at from February 3-17 in the church hallways.
“What can I offer?”
In the past People’s people have submitted homemade seasonal pies, a poetry brunch, an ice cream party, cooking lessons, sunset boat ride on Lake Michigan, child care services, voice lessons, tax preparation assistance, framed photographs, he-man labor, dog sitting/walking, etc. You get the idea. If you value it, someone else will too, and they’ll be willing to pay for it (with proceeds to benefit our church).
When is the Auction?
The silent auction will run from Sunday February 3rd to the 17th. We’ll be contacting you this month if you previously offered something. If you haven’t participated in the auction in the past and have an item or service to offer, please fill out an Auction Offer Form, (also available in the foyer). We will contact you if we need further information.
“How will it work?”
We will begin advertising your item in our online catalog and on a bid sheet in the church later in January. You can bid on items by using the bid sheets that will be posted on the walls all around the church. The auction will close before the service on Sunday, February 17 and you will be able to pick up your purchases after the service that day. So be on the lookout for additional announcements, and start thinking about what you want to offer in the People’s Church Silent Auction.
