Pam-Allen-Thompson-med-254x300.jpgDear People’s people,

I want to express my appreciation for the lovely farewell reception to bid me good-bye. The gift of jewelry from two artists we know and love–Anna Shade and David Smallcombe–was very special, as was the Michigan wine bag. The cake was beautiful and the exotic punch delicious. There were so many people helping that I want to acknowledge–please forgive me if I leave someone out.  My thanks to:

  • Sally Padley
  • Rochelle Habeck Hunt
  • Mary Lewis
  • Martha Cohen
  • Christina Cusumano
  • Mary Carroll
  • And all others who helped with the setup and cleanup of the farewell reception

I appreciated also the personal gifts, from Godiva chocolates to handmade cards to a special tie-dyed silk scarf from the young artist, Genevieve Shade–and of course all the hugs and good wishes. How touched I was that so many children and grandchildren came up to say good-bye. A reminder of what extraordinary parents help keep People’s Church growing and current, a gift just as important as all the long-timers here who carry the experience and knowledge of your history. Wow!

And those of you who could not be there this past Sunday, feel yourselves equally acknowledged in my farewell Thank You.

Finally, it was overwhelmingly beautiful to see the energy, joy, and excitement with which you welcomed your new Interim Minister, Dave Johnson. You’re going to have a great year together. Drink it all in!

Peace,

Pam
