Come along for a guided tour of the Palmer Memorial Nature Preserve on Saturday afternoon. John Bagley, of the Michigan Nature Association will lead us through this rare prairie fen ecosystem, home to 25 percent of the state’s endangered plants, animals, and insects. We will get a chance to see how the native fire-adapted plants are responding to last spring’s controlled burn. Late August and early September are peak bloom season for prairie plants.

What to bring: a sun hat, water, long pants, and water-proof boots (preferably knee high).
