Our partners at Samaritas and Bethany Christian Services are expecting up to 150 Afghans to be resettled in our community in the coming weeks. Samaritas asked People’s Church to be a collection point for household goods for our neighbors-to-be and we have responded by converting The Commons into storage. We are seeking new or gently used bedding, furniture, kitchen supplies, hygiene items, and school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the church from 1-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, except for Labor Day, when the building is closed.

We are also seeking volunteers to welcome and direct members of our wider community who are dropping off their donations. You can sign up to volunteer here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054ba9ac22a13-help
