WarMadeEasy“How are we talked into war?” will be our topic on 9/20, presented by Barbara Hasan, inspired by the book, “War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death” by Noel Solomon. The LA Times called it, “Brutally persuasive…a must-read for those who would like greater context … to arm themselves for the debates about Iraq that are still to come.” Jim Hightower: “If you want to help prevent another war (Iran? Syria?), read “War Made Easy “now. (Both citations are from Amazon.com)

Brief excerpts hitting main points to be discussed will be distributed to our group mailing list the week before. If you would like to be added (or have questions about the group), email this year’s group coordinator, Pat Nelson.

The discussion group meets 1st & 3rd Saturday mornings, 10-12; beginning with the 3rd Saturday of September and ending with the first Saturday of June. Participants take turns doing presentations, and providing coffee and donuts. On 9/20, we’ll be in Room 7.
