The Study Group will be meeting on Monday, January 18 at 7:30, via Zoom, to discuss a book by Michael Lewis: The Fifth Risk: Undoing Democracy. Lewis, a well-known journalist, in this 2018 bestselling book takes on explaining, through personal stories and interviews, what various federal agencies actually do for Americans — and how that has been altered since 2016. Beyond the present administration, the book gives a picture of how government really works, and what is needed to make government effective. (Please note that this discussion was rescheduled from December 21.)

The Study Group meets monthly to discuss a wide variety of books dealing with issues in philosophy, religion, science, history, and current affairs.  New members are welcome! For more information, or to get the Zoom address for the meeting, contact Tim Bartik at bartik@upjohn.org.
