The People’s Church annual Service Auction is now underway. “What is the Service Auction?” you might ask. This is an opportunity to offer and bid on services provided by People’s people. It helps us to build community by sharing our talents and raising some money for the church along the way. We will soon be soliciting the services you can provide to benefit our church. “What can I offer?” you may wonder. In the past People’s people have put up for auction homemade pies, a poetry brunch, a day at the beach, a boat ride on Lake Michigan, child care services, voice lessons, tax preparation assistance, he-man labor, dog sitting/walking, a weekend excursion to that lake house up north or Florida condominium, etc. You get the idea. If you value it, someone else will too and they’ll be willing to pay for it (with proceeds to benefit our church). If you haven’t participated in the auction in the past and have a service to offer, please email auction@peopleschurch.net or fill out an Auction Offer form available in the foyer.

Here’s how it will work this year. We began advertising offerings in the north hallway at the church on January 29.  You can bid on all the wonderful services and goods by using the bid sheets in the church. The list of what’s available is here.  The silent part of the auction will culminate with a potluck lunch on Sunday, February 19 after church when we’ll close the bids and the winners will be announced. We are also looking for helpers to assist with setup, cleanup, and other activities on February 19.  Please let Michael Nassaney know if you can help.
